MSAD#52
supports good nutrition as part of a school environment that
contributes to student health and encourages positive food choices and
eating habits. Each school in the district participates in the National
School Lunch and Breakfast programs. These programs are implemented to
ensure access for every child to healthful school meals regulated by
USDA standards and guidelines.

State of Maine Child Nutrition -
The
homepage of Department of Education Food Service Office. The office
team is responsible for, After School Snack Program, Food Distribution,
Milk Program, National Breakfast Program, National School Lunch
Program, and Summer Food Service Program. This office in general
provides technical assistance, conducts reviews and provides training.
Food Pyramid Guidance Information -
Team
Nutrition is an initiative of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to
support the Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical
assistance for foodservice, nutrition education for children and their
caregivers, and school and community support for healthy eating and
physical activity.

Technologies, Inc., a provider of technology for school nutrition
programs, announced Nutri-Cafe, an interactive virtual cafeteria portal
application that alllows parents and students to easily view and learn
about the nutritional content of school meals, leading to healthier
eating habits and lifestyle for students.
