Summer Hours

The office at Greene Central School will be open the following times during the summer months:

Through June 30th:  7 am to 3 pm

July 6 through August 3  - Mondays only 

The office will reopen the week before school begins in August.

Donna Whelan Retires

Donna Whelan, who is retiring after 36  years of teaching at Greene Central School, was presented with an engraved clock from Superintendent Darlene Burdin at our community meeting on Tuesday, June 16th. Her 4th grade students serenaded her and the staff sang their good-byes to the tune of I've Been Working on the Railroad.  whelan.jpg

Donna will be missed by the staff as well as the students as she was such a friend to all of us. She promised she'll come back to help, whether it be in the classroom or out in Peggy's garden. We'll be looking for her floating over the school in her hot air balloon.

Greene Central School received a Reading First Grant for $409,000 over three years.
Under the administration of the United States Department of Education, the Reading First initiative is an authorization under the No Child Left Behind Act. The purpose of Reading First is to insure that all children become successful readers by the end of grade 3.
