Donna Whelan, who is retiring after 36 years of teaching at Greene Central School, was presented with an engraved clock from Superintendent Darlene Burdin at our community meeting on Tuesday, June 16th. Her 4th grade students serenaded her and the staff sang their good-byes to the tune of I've Been Working on the Railroad.
Donna will be missed by the staff as well as the students as she was such a friend to all of us. She promised she'll come back to help, whether it be in the classroom or out in Peggy's garden. We'll be looking for her floating over the school in her hot air balloon.
