Savanna Georgia

posted Mar 29, 2016, 10:50 AM by Bryan Brito
First stop.
We landed in Savanna Georgia, greeted by the Marines with lunch.  So far no yelling, more waiting.  We await the arrival of all participants here at the airport.  Many of us have taken the opportunity to change out of cold weather clothes into something more suitable for the wonderful weather.
As I write about 18 people have arrived and we wait for another 20. Then we will board the bus for base.
While soldiers in an airport is not unusual these days, I must admit there are a lot of soldiers here.  I have enjoyed watching them greet family and friends.  I just spoke to a man who returned from the middle east to meet his wife and new baby.  I saw him look at his baby for the first time and tears were in his eyes "thank you for your service seems inadequate," but I thanked him nonetheless.
