NEWSLETTER - Technology takes front stage...
Dear Families,
During the second quarter at Turner Primary School, I have seen a surge of technology usage within our school. The exciting part for me of this increase is that it is not an “add-on” to the student day. We are working instead to integrate technology for their students and their families.

The Principal's Advisory Committee has decided that keeping the classrooms clean is a job for everyone!
Each classroom representative designed a poster especially with his/her class in mind. The posters were displayed and students reminded to keep their classrooms clean. On December 2nd, students gathered for a school meeting. The focus on this school meeting was on writing. Students helped Ms. Gillis compose a powerpoint to address certain aspects of writing. Awards were given to students for a variety of reasons. Some students received awards for their use of dialogue in their writing, others for creativity and details. Kindergarteners were given awards for use of sounds and sight words in their writing.

Mrs. Rombalski's kindergarten class collected the most Box Tops for the 1st quarter. All together they brought in 375 Box Tops! This translates to $37.50! So far, all TPS students have donated over 2000 Box Tops. Ms. Gillis has told the children that this money will be used to purchase sleds for winter use on the playground. The contest continues with all children encouraged to ask relatives to keep saving Box Tops!
