Curriculum

MSAD 52’s Strategic Plan includes a focus on curriculum.  Our collective goal is that:

Every MSAD 52 student will participate in a rigorous education program that provides a variety of curricular and extra-curricular offerings that match students’ interests and needs. For more specific information on this, go to the MSAD 52 Strategic Plan.

Current work on curriculum includes the following content areas: Visual and Performing Arts (VPA); Health & Physical Education; and Mathematics.  This work is being conducted by teacher teams who are reviewing the Maine Learning Results, selecting essential standards for our students and working on Common Assessments for all students.  When a curriculum is deemed ready to be reviewed by the School Board Curriculum Committee,  the review will be scheduled prior to it being reviewed and adopted by the entire School Board.  

The curriculum work is being housed in a curriculum platform for schools called Atlas. When the work for each content area has been approved by the School Board the curriculum will be available on a public facing site.
